As private universities, they are likely organizing their selection process through an online portal based on their rankings. During the admission process, they may allocate a certain percentage of seats for higher categories; for example, 10% of the seats could be reserved for category 5. This practice is possible because, for a certain percentage of seats, they charge lower fees, while for others, the fees are higher. Generally, they might allocate seats on a first-come, first-served basis.

You need to make your own decision regarding admission at VIT. I believe that instead of choosing Computer Science Engineering (CSE), it would be beneficial to opt for core branches such as Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics. While pursuing these programs, you could consider adding CSE or specialized CSE programs as supplementary courses. This approach could enhance your employability in the job market. However, VICE-VERSA is not possible.

Ultimately, the choice is yours.

All the best!

Sir how much rank will 70 marks in COMEDK 2026 (9th may shift 1) yield??? Are there chances for rank inflation in this range and if yes how much further my rank will be shifted??? Thank you,
Ans: HI TRIDEEP,
GREETINGS FROM REDIFFGURUS!
Based on your score in COMEDK, your expected rank for Shift 1 is between 18,000 and 33,000. Shift 1 was generally perceived as "easier" than Shift 2, which makes this rank range highly susceptible to rank inflation. More students typically scored within the 70–80 marks band during this session.
Rank Inflation Analysis
There is a high likelihood of rank inflation in this range due to the following reasons:

1. Shift Difficulty: Shift 1 (May 9) was reportedly easier than Shift 2, meaning more candidates likely achieved higher raw scores in your session. This could lower your normalized percentile compared to other students with the same raw marks.

2. Student Density: The 60–80 marks range is the most populated part of the score distribution. A difference of just 1-2 marks can shift your rank by several thousand positions.

3. No Negative Marking: The absence of negative marking in COMEDK encourages guessing, resulting in a higher concentration of students in the mid-score ranges, which further contributes to rank inflation.

If significant inflation occurs, your rank could shift by approximately 3,000 to 5,000 positions lower than historical averages for a score of 70 marks. This means you may have opportunities for lower-demand or specialized courses in top-tier colleges. ECT, IT, and Mechanical Engineering are possible at Dayananda Sagar College and BMS Institute of Technology.

Make sure to participate in the counseling process to achieve your goals.

All the best!

Hlo sir..I'm belongs to BCE (shaik) category I am from Telangana.Iam thinking to apply EWS certificate to get the reservation in pg admissions sir can you explain what to and how it helps to me.shall I apply state EWS or central EWS further for jobs and to get better seats in college
Ans: HI
GREETINGS FROM REDIFFGURUS!
If you belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), which is designed for open-category individuals with certain privileges, you may see a significant change in your rank when applying for postgraduate (PG) admissions or entrance tests. This certificate is solely for admission purposes and does not apply to job-related categories—there are no subcategories for jobs.

Both state and central authorities provide EWS certificates, but it's important to note that the central certificate is more widely accepted for admissions compared to state-issued certificates. If you plan to apply for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, a central EWS certificate is necessary.

### How to Apply for an EWS Certificate in Telangana

If you need to obtain an EWS certificate in Telangana, follow these steps through the official state portal:

1. **Where to Apply**: Visit the nearest MeeSeva Centre or apply online through the Telangana MeeSeva Portal.

2. **Register/Login**: Create a citizen account using your mobile number and Aadhaar details.

3. **Select Service**: Search for and select the service titled "Issuance of Income and Assets Certificate for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)."

4. **Fill Application**: Provide accurate personal, family, income, and asset details.

5. **Upload Documents**: Attach necessary identification proof, address proof, income proof (such as Income Tax Returns, salary slips, or Form 16), property documents, and passport-sized photographs.

6. **Pay the Fee**: Complete the payment for the nominal application processing fee online.

7. **Verification**: A revenue officer or Tehsildar will verify your documents, which usually takes 15 to 30 days.

### Eligibility Criteria for the Central EWS Quota

To qualify for the central EWS quota, the following conditions must be met:

- The total annual family income must be below Rs. 8 lakhs (inclusive of all income sources, such as salary, agriculture, and business).
- The family must own less than 5 acres of agricultural land.
- The family must own a residential flat of less than 1,000 square feet.
- The family must own a residential plot of less than 100 square yards in notified municipalities.
- The family must own a residential plot of less than 200 square yards in areas outside notified municipalities.

### Documents Required

When applying, you will typically need to provide the following documents:

1. **Identity Proof**: Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or PAN Card.
2. **Address Proof**: Utility bills or Ration Card.
3. **Income Proof**: Salary slips, Form 16, or Income Tax Returns (ITR).
4. **Asset/Land Proof**: Land deed, property documents, or municipal records.
5. **Affidavit/Self-Declaration**: A self-attested affidavit regarding your income and assets.

### Application Process for Central EWS Certificate

1. **Download the Form**: Obtain the Central Government EWS format, often named Income & Asset Certificate in Annexure-I of the DoPT EWS Guidelines.

2. **Submit to Authorities**: Go to your local Revenue Department office, such as the Tehsildar, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), or District Magistrate.

3. **Verification**: A local revenue officer will verify your income and asset declarations against the submitted documents.

4. **Issuance**: The certificate is typically issued within 7 to 21 working days.

Validity: The central EWS certificate is valid for one financial year. You must renew your application each year to continue availing benefits in central recruitment or university admissions.

Follow these steps to obtain your EWS certificate.
BEST WISHES.
